“This is clearly a crack team who can give nothing less than keenly accomplished playing to suit any occasion” – The Living Tradition Magazine

Welcome you to the pages of Scottish folk music trio Càirdeas! This is the place to keep up to date with gigs, catch up with all the latest news and check out the latest Càirdeas CD’s. Originally formed for a tour of Switzerland in 2006 they now perform at top international festivals, corporate events, British embassies, Caledonian societies and Scottish celebrations all over the world. Now that January is well and truly upon us and, inkeeping with the world-wide tradition of the Burns Supper, Càirdeas returns to Switzerland from 13th-29th January 2012 for the annual ’Robert Burns Roadshow’. This long-standing tour has become a firm favourite amongst not only Swiss audiences and Scottish expatriates but also those from the wider international community. Whisky expert Mark Chesterfield from the Whisky Experience thewhiskyexperience.com will join Càirdeas throughout the tour as we invite you to help Scotland celebrate 252 years of Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, with music, song, traditional Burns ceremony, haggis and, of course, whisky tasting… (although, not necessarily in that order)! All of the dates and venues plus further details can be found in the Gigs List. Hope to see you at one, or more, of the events!

…Càirdeas (pronounced Car-dis) means ‘friendship’ and ‘kinship’ in Scottish Gaelic.
